Laser Hair Removal in Raynes Park & Wimbledon

Laser hair removal treatment

Laser hair removal offers long-term hair reduction for the face and body, helping to reduce the need for repeated shaving, waxing or epilation and the irritation and ingrown hairs these methods can cause.

At NewLife Aesthetics, treatments are backed by over 25 years of hands-on laser experience, with particular expertise in treating darker skin tones. We use medical-grade dual-wavelength laser technology so treatment can be carefully selected according to skin tone, hair characteristics and the area being treated.

Because hair grows in different stages, a course of treatments is normally required. Every new client receives a consultation, medical-history assessment and patch test before treatment.

Laser Hair Removal for Darker Skin Tones

Laser hair removal can be performed successfully on darker skin tones, but it requires particular care and appropriate technology. Darker skin contains more melanin, which means the surrounding skin can also absorb laser energy. Wavelength, energy, pulse duration and cooling therefore need to be carefully selected to reduce the risk of unwanted heat or pigmentation changes.

At NewLife Aesthetics, Mo Ashraf has over 25 years of laser treatment experience and particular expertise in treating darker and more highly pigmented skin tones. Our medical-grade dual-wavelength system uses both 755 nm Alexandrite and 1064 nm Nd:YAG technology. The 1064 nm Nd:YAG wavelength is particularly valuable for darker skin because it penetrates more deeply and is less strongly absorbed by melanin at the surface of the skin than shorter wavelengths.

Every client is assessed individually and receives a patch test before treatment. Settings are selected according to skin tone, hair colour and thickness, treatment area and individual response rather than applying one standard setting to everyone.

Prices

We use a medical-grade dual-wavelength laser platform with 755 nm Alexandrite and 1064 nm Nd:YAG technology. Treatment is tailored according to skin tone, hair colour and thickness, and the area being treated. White, grey and very light blonde hair generally responds poorly because there is insufficient pigment for the laser to target effectively.
As hair grows in different cycles, a course of treatments is usually recommended for the best opportunity to achieve long-term hair reduction. All new clients receive a consultation and patch test before treatment.

Who is the ideal laser hair removal candidate?

Laser hair removal is most effective on pigmented hair. Suitability depends on hair colour, skin tone, medical history, medications and the area being treated. A consultation and patch test are used to determine whether treatment is appropriate.

Why choose Laser hair removal treatment?

Laser hair removal can significantly reduce the amount and rate of hair regrowth over a course of treatment, helping to reduce reliance on shaving, waxing or epilation and the irritation or ingrown hairs these methods can cause. Results vary according to hair colour, hormonal factors, treatment area and individual response, and occasional maintenance treatment may be required.
